Ask any doctor or health official what they feel is the single most important nutrient that our bodies need on a daily basis and their answer will unanimously be water. Interestingly enough, water isn’t a nutrient at all, but it is completely essential to the daily functioning of our bodies.

In most cases, water is even more important for us to have than food, as one will die from dehydration far well before they are affected by starvation. Lack of water can result in light symptoms such as sore throat and headaches, and can eventually lead to worse symptoms such as fainting. This is why it is extremely important to stay hydrated and drink approximately eight glasses of water each day.

The importance of water should not be overlooked when considering the design of your home and appliances, which is why it is important to have some kind of filtered water device within your home or water softener if you have a problem of hard water. Depending upon where you live, your tap water may or may not contain contaminants that could possibly jeopardize your health. This is why it is important to filter your water and soften it, regardless of how safe you feel it may already be.

Water filtration devices and water conditioners come in many different shapes and sizes, including devices that mount directly on your tap, and jugs that can be filled with tap water and stored in the fridge to keep cold. Water conditioners can be one that are applied to single tap or the whole water system at home. These devices are generally very inexpensive and can do wonders for your family’s health.

By keeping clean, fresh water on hand at all times, you will be making a major step in preserving the health of you and your family.
