There are many reasons why a last minute Christmas gift may be needed. Sometimes Christmas suddenly arrives or someone was simply forgotten during holiday shopping. Whatever the reason, being caught at the last minute without a gift is easily rectified.

Available at a variety of places or online, gift cards are the perfect last minute gift. Choose the recipients favourite store or buy a card that can be used in many places. If time is really short, opt to purchase a gift certificate online that can be delivered immediately by email.

Baked Goods or Candy

Always keep holiday baked goods or a few boxes of candy on hand for last minute giving. Have the items wrapped and simply add a nametag. Whether you purchase the holiday goodies or make them yourself, baked goods and candy are welcome gifts.

Christmas Hampers

For a more personalised gift, consider a Christmas hamper or gift basket. These can be easily assembled at home to fit the interests of the recipient. If time is short, a variety of readily available options can be found in stores or online. Consider having the hamper delivered directly to the recipient’s home or office.

Time

The ultimate last minute gift is the gift of time. While not feasible or appropriate in all circumstances, the gift of time is often the best option, especially for the very young or very old. Plan to a special outing or spend time together doing whatever the recipient desires. Remember that the actual time can be scheduled for a later date.
