Taking a bath - your relaxing time [recipes]

Every woman (and man)  knows what a nice bath can do to soothe a tired body. The heated water relaxes aching muscles, calms the mind, softens the mood. This fact was well known even back in the ancient times, we all know that Cleopatra, the most beautiful woman of her times, was fond of bathing in goat milk which softened her skin and made her look vibrant and fresh. Today, not many of us have the possibility to use milk to bathe in but there are many ways of preparing a miraculous bath.

We are all in a  rush these days, there are so many things to do during the week, that stress us and make us wish for something to calm the nerves. Once or twice a week you should let yourself take a break, light some candles in your bathroom and pour a bit of perfume oil in the water – there are many kinds and not only do they smell nice, they work their magic for many parts of body and soul. For example a few drops of eucalyptus oil, tea oil and cinnamon oil added to bathtub of 98,60F (37 C) water is perfect for removing symptoms of cold or flu. Six drops of citrus oil mixed with 3-4 drops of rosemary oil added to water with the same temperature make a wonderful anti-depression therapy, restoring vitality and will for living.

If you wish to do something for your skin, you might want to consider an elder bath. Soak four spoons of dried elder flowers with three cups of boiling water for fifteen minutes and strain  into your bath. This will cleanse your skin and make it soft and smooth.

A salt peeling water is wonderful as well. Not only does it terse the skin, it also works against cellulite. Pour 250g of Dead Sea salt into the water and wait for it to dissolve. Take a handful of thick peeling or kitchen salt and rub it onto the places where fat-tissue accumulates for a few minutes. Don’t wash it, just soak in the water for twenty minutes, allowing the salt to permeate your skin. It has cleansing and refreshing abilities, it also quickens the metabolism process and helps removing harmful toxins. After a bath like that, anti-cellulite cosmetics are far more effective so you might want to use them right after.

To water and nourish you skin, prepare yourself a milk-honey bath. Boil one liter of milk and after 10 minutes add half a spoon of natural honey, stirring the content. Add it to your bath and enjoy the feeling.

After a bath, you should oil your skin and wrap yourself in a warm bathrobe, so anything you used work better and have better chance to get absorbed. Make sure your baths are not longer than twenty minutes, and not more often than twice a week.
